Jesse Coste is the number one fencer in his age bracket and the legitimate son of fencing legend Robert Coste.

Jesse has inherited his father's blond hair and blue eyes and is physically very similar to him.
He is tall and slender.

As a child, Jesse was warm towards Seiji when they first met.[1]
History[]
Jesse grew up with his father and has been trained by him all his life.
He is currently a sophomore at Exton Boys Academy[2], the state's premier fencing school, where he is also the captain of the fencing team[3].
Fencing Skills[]
Jesse is a fencing prodigy, currently ranked number one in individual épée. He is a left-handed fencer with no known fencing weaknesses. His particular strengths are tempo, distance management, explosiveness, and speed.[2]

Jesse's personal coach is his father, who has also provided him with the best trainers and instruction since Jesse was five.[3]
His half-brother is Nicholas Cox, although it’s unclear whether Jesse is aware of his existence. Jesse and Nicholas have never met.[4]
Jesse has known Seiji Katayama since they were both children.[1]

- Jesse's most treasured possession is the épée he received from his father - a memento of Robert Coste's 1984 Olympic title[2]
- His favorite food is Eton mess[2] (a traditional English dessert consisting of a mixture of strawberries, broken meringue, and whipped double cream)
